Sr. Systems Engineer/Windows Enterprise
Provide premier and effective customer service and technical support to both internal and external clients, and acting as a technical resource for new implementations and on going support of production environment, with a focus on Exchange. Provide practical, and sometimes imaginative, solutions to a wide range of difficult problems. Effectively support Windows Enterprise Services server enterprise, through monitoring and proactive maintenance. Contact various hardware / software vendors to ensure software and hardware patches are in compliance. Job Responsibilities: - Works within Windows Enterprise Services team in providing all levels of support, with a focus on providing Exchange expertise
- Works closely with and provides support to Windows Enterprise Services Associate and System I & II Engineers
- Designs/ Builds hardware / software enterprise components for deployment based upon client or management specifications
- Provides detailed documentation of server inventory and patch management of enterprise systems
- Provides solutions to hardware/software problems and works with vendors, as required, to resolve issues
- Leads self and demonstrates willingness to accept responsibility
- Performs project tasks as directed and provides necessary feedback to project stakeholders
- Works under general direction by management; capable of effectively prioritizing and managing time and tasks
- Completes assignments of support and ongoing maintenance to ensure system stability, self-development through exposure to new / ongoing information technology projects distributed by management
- Frequently communicates at the inter-organizational level, with vendors, and outside customer contacts
- Demonstrates competency in written and verbal communication, as well as graphical depictions.
Requirements
Education Requirements: - Bachelor Degree in Information Technology (or equivalent educational focus) or 5 years industry experience
Professional Experience / Qualifications: - Desired certifications include but not limited to: A+ Certification, MCSE, CCNA
- Knowledge/ Expertise of Windows based applications of basic principles, theories, and concepts
- Knowledge/Expertise of Exchange, remote access technologies, Microsoft Active Directory domain administration and support, including user/policy account creation, permissions allocation, resolving complex replication and authentication issues, creating file and print shares
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Networking principles such as DNS, WINS, DHCP
- Knowledge/ Expertise of Third party software integration within a server enterprise environment
- Knowledge/ Expertise in supporting and maintaining multiple server hardware platforms
- Knowledge/ Expertise in supporting and administering Exchange 2003 and integration with Active Directory Services
- Knowledge/Expertise of supporting enterprise backup solutions, including application administration and troubleshooting hardware-related issues
- Working knowledge of data storage platforms, such as SCSI-attached devices, NAS devices, and Storage Area Networks and RAID best practices.
